While statutorily a division of Kansas Development Finance Authority (KDFA), Kansas Housing Resources Corporation is legally distinct and operates entirely independently. The Corporation has its own Board of Directors, which is charged with performing the powers and obligations of the organization. The Board is appointed by the Governor and consists of five members. KHRC is headed by an Executive Director, who reports to the President of KDFA, and is charged with the day-to-day management of the organization.

Unless otherwise noted, KHRC's Board meetings are tentatively scheduled for the first Thursday of each month, unless it's the week of a holiday. In that case, the meeting is moved to the 2nd Thursday of the month. The meetings typically start at 9a.m. in the Kansas Development Finance Authority's boardroom, located at 555 S. Kansas Avenue, Suite 202, Topeka, Kansas, 66603.
