Property amenities at Homestead Senior Residences include a large community center that houses a library, computer lab, exercise room and full-sized kitchen for both public and private events. Villa Maria Inc., a not-for-profit licensed skilled nursing facility, will offer tenants regular health screenings, blood pressure checks and diabetic foot care. Consumer Credit Counseling Services, Inc. will host free trainings for tenants on identity theft and financial literacy.
79-year-old Barbara Walker has lived in her apartment for the past three months. Walker says she loves the community’s convenient location, but really appreciates her unit’s safe room. “When it gets stormy outside, there are no steps,” said Walker. “You just open the door and walk inside. It’s very secure.”
77-year-old Patty Ingram says the quality of her apartment is excellent and she enjoys the open layout. “What I really like are the low month utilities,” said Ingram. “Most of us are on a fixed-income, so every dollar helps.”
